Dr. Joe Sutherland’s professional tenure includes experience as a senior technology executive at Amazon, Cisco, and Search Discovery, where he led mass-scale digital transformation initiatives for a client portfolio including Coca-Cola, GlaxoSmithKline, JPMorganChase, and Goldman Sachs. From 2011–2013, he served at The White House directing presidential appearances and press conferences.

Dr. Sutherland’s work in business, analytics, and technology has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Financial Times, Bloomberg, Quartz, and TechCrunch. Additionally, Joe was a founder at the artificial intelligence startup Peachtree AI, and a founding team member at the fintech startup Prattle, both of which successfully exited through acquisition. He has a history of board service, including as a committee member for the Board of Trustees of Washington University in St. Louis.

He holds a Ph.D., M.Phil., and a Master’s degree from Columbia, where he was a Dean’s Fellow and was awarded a citation by the National Science Foundation for research applying machine learning to the study of economics and public policy. He is a patent holder for pedabyte-scale distributed cloud computing systems and AI-driven quantitative trading algorithms. He holds a Bachelor’s from Wash. U. in St. Louis.
